Abstract
784,207. Clamp fastenings. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKT RORLAS. March 26, 1956, No. 9354/56; Class 44 In a locking device for telescopically moveable tubes 1 and 2, the inner tube 1 is provided with at least three cylinders 5, 13 and 14 disposed axially one behind the other and contacting with one another along inclined plane surfaces with adjacent pairs of contacting surfaces 7 and 15 lying in intersecting planes of which the upper cylinder 5 is axially displaceable in order to permit locking and releasinfi of the tubes, the locking cation being effected by displacement of the outer cylinder 5 towards the inner cylinder 14 causing the middle and inner cylinders 13 and 14 to slide laterally against the outer tube 2 and the releasing action being effected bydi splacement of the outer cylinder 2 in the opposite direction thus relieving pressure of the middle and inner cylinders 13 and 14 against the outer tube 2. As shown, the cylinder 5 is internally threaded threaded on to a screwed rod 4 carried by the tube 1 and the locking and releasing actions are effec ted respectively by relative rotation of the tubes 1 and 2. Projections 11 and 12 on the rod 4 and cylinder 5 respectively, cooperate to prevent jamming of these parts. The locking and releasing actions may be effected by rotation of the rod 4 by means of an arm or lever attached to an extension thereof.
