Abstract

The coating composition for a fire-resistant anti-corrosion tape consists of a shale oil residue, a phosphoric ester of a phenol, and one or more siliceous fillers. An exemplified composition contains 35-45, preferably 35, parts shale oil residue, 10-20, preferably 20, parts trixylenyl, or tri-orthocresol phosphate, and 45-55, preferably 45, parts china clay.
