Abstract
776,452. Sheet-metal joints. JACKSON ELECTRIC STOVE CO., Ltd. June 28, 1955 [Aug. 9, 1954], No. 23112/54. Class 83 (4). A method of joining together two vitreous enamelled metal parts having adjacent edges turned in opposite directions to form flanges a, b, is characterized in that the edges are caused mutually to abut to produce a trough or channel, sealing compound g is inserted in the trough, a clamping strip c is fitted so as freely to straddle said trough and the edges of the strip are bent towards each other by indentation at intervals d or compression throughout the length of the strip so as to compress the packing material and grip the flanges.
