Abstract

775,039. Eggs, washing. CHURCH, G. T. Dec. 2, 1955 [Dec. 3, 1954], No. 35031/54. Class 28(2) Eggs are moved along a rotated screw conveyer 9-12 on which they are held in place by side guides 15 and 17 and are washed the eggs. The tufts dip into water in the bottom of the tank 10 which may be by a rotated brush 19 the tufts of which reach between spaced fingers 18 of the guide 17 to contact and rotate covered by a transparent or opaque lid 11. The screw conveyer is made by winding copper tube 12 around the small diameter drum 9. A handle 25 and gearing rotates the brush at least 4 times for each rotation of the conveyer.
