Abstract

773,930. Electrostatic precipitation. RESEARCH CORPORATION. Aug. 15, 1955 [Oct. 28, 1954], No. 23435/55. Class 39(1). An electrostatic precipitator working at super-atmospheric pressures has a series of insulator compartments 22, 30, 32 at decreasing pressures. Chamber 22 is preferably at a pressure slightly above that in the precipitator itself. Inert gas is supplied to the chambers from a source 38.- Pressure control valves 48, 50, 52 are electrically controlled by pressuresensing devices 54, 58, 60 to maintain suitable pressure differentials between the successive compartments.
