Abstract

772,538. Disinfecting dustbins. WALTERS, C. Sept. 24, 1954 [April 1, 1954], No. 9653/54. Class 26. [Also in Group VI] A device for dispensing disinfectant powder in small quantities adapted to be attached to the under surface of a refuse-bin lid comprises, as shown, a container 11 formed in two parts 12 and 15 and having apertures 16 in the wall of the part 15 only, and attachment means (which in the form shown comprises a suction cap 14) provided on the part 12 for attachment to the underside of lid 13 so that the apertures 16 are directed downwardly. The attachment means may alternatively comprise a layer of adhesive provided on the upper surface of the upper part, and the two parts may be secured together by frictional push fitting as shown, or by screwthread or bayonet fixing, or by means of adhesive tape overlapping the two parts. Perforated sheet material such as wire mesh or muslin may be used to provide the apertures 16.
