Abstract
772,053. Skin paring devices. RYAN, P. T. Aug. 3, 1954 [Oct. 2. 1953], No. 22453/54. Class 81(2) [Also in Group XIV] A paring device for removing surface layers of corns &c. comprises a handle 1 one end of which is forked and carries transversely a support 2 which is set at an angle to the longitudinal plane of the handle 1, has pins 1b for locating a safety razor blade 3 thereon and supports a cover plate 4 to be clamped over the blade 3, so that a limited portion of the blade 3 is exposed in proximity to the space between the prongs 1a of the handle 1, the support 2 being curved so that the blade 3 is bent in a direction perpendicular to that in which a blade is bent in a conventional razor blade holder. The prongs 1a of the handle 1 pass through the support 2 to which they are brazed and form pins 16. The pins 1b have reduced portions which engage with narrow portions of keyhole slots 4a in the cover plate 4 for clamping the blade 3 and cover plate 4 in position. Intermediate the prongs 1a, the support 2 and cover plate 4 have recesses 4b for exposing a limited portion of the blade 3.
