[Also in Group XXVIII] In a device for determining the moisture content of a gas wherein a stream of the gas is first divided into two portions, one being passed into a conduit 25 and the other being first dried and then supplied to a conduit 26, the conduits lead via a valve 32 and conduits 30, 31 to a coil 41 in a Dewar flask 22 and thence to cells 42, 43 which contain a bed of adsorption-desorption material and a thermopile 47, 48 connected by leads 49, 50 to a conduit 29 of a measuring instrument (not shown). By operating the valve 32 the dried and undried portions of the gas stream are admitted to the cells 42, 43 alternately, the adsorption and desorption of the moisture therein resulting in temperature changes which cause the thermopiles to actuate the measuring instrument and thereby record the moisture content of the gas.
