Abstract
770,034. Digital electric calculating apparatus. CINEMA-TELEVISION, Ltd. Jan. 11, 1955 [Jan. 13, 1954], No. 992/54. Class 106 (1). ). Electrical dividing apparatus comprises first (1) and second (2) counters each arranged to deliver an output signal when the number of Input signals received since the last output signal reaches a respective selected 'number, means (3) for supplying a succession of input signals simultaneously to both counters, a register (5) for recording the number of output signals delivered by the first counter (1) and a gate (4) operable by the output of the second counter (2) to prevent the further application of input signals to both counters, whereby the number recorded by the register (5) represents the quotient. The counters are preferably of the multi-cathode gas discharge tube type.
