A picture frame 1 has a rib or moulding 2 extending continuously around the periphery of the frame and lying in a plane inclined to that containing the rear edges 4 of the frame so that the rib 2 supports the picture 3 in an inclined position when the edges 4 rest against a wall. It is thus unnecessary to nail the picture to the frame. The lateral walls may be formed from boards having two parallel ribs 2, 2a, and cutting each board obliquely along the line 4.
