Abstract

Synthetic rubber, e.g. a polymer of butadiene, isoprene or piperylene or a copolymer of one of these with styrene, a methyl-styrene, acrylonitrile, an acrylic or methacrylic ester of a lower alkanol, or a monovinyl pyridine, has incorporated therein as an antioxidant 2,5-triptycenediol (9,10 - dihydroanthracene - 9,10 - endo - 21,31-hydroquinone).ALSO:Natural or synthetic rubber, e.g. butadiene-styrene or butadiene-acrylonitrile, or a composition thereof has incorporated therein as an antioxidant 2, 5 triptycenediol (9, 10 dihydroanthracene-9, 10 endo-21, 31 hydroquinane).
