765,508. Radio receiving apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 7, 1955 [Jan 11, 1954], No. 551/55. Class 40(5) A radio receiver provided with apparatus to enable it to function as an alarm clock comprises clock operated contacts 13 and a neon tube relaxation oscillator so arranged with respect to the receiver circuit that on closure of the contact 13 an alarm signal is reproduced in the loudspeaker 5. The circuit generating the alarm signal comprises a first neon tube relaxation oscillator 6, 8 having a frequency of oscillation of approximately 3 c/s and a second relaxation oscillator 7, 9 having a frequency of oscillation of approximately 0.4 c/s so that an interrupted pulse train as shown in Fig. 2 is generated.
