Abstract

765,362. Photo-electric examination of chromatographic and like records. BASSIR, O. Jan. 25, 1955 [Aug. 12, 1954], No. 23380/54. Class 40 (3). A drum containing a light-source and having a circumferential slit over which a record strip which has been stained and rendered translucent is secured and driven at a slow speed past a photo-electric cell connected to a galvanometer. A red filter may be inserted in the photo-electric head and the light intensity may be adjusted. Preferably the drum is mounted vertically and is supported by engagement of a flange with rubber-tyred wheels, one of which is driven.
