Abstract

A plastic material, e.g. a polyamide, is cast or moulded around removable or permanent cores to form an article in which the polyamide is spatially distributed so as to define contiguous dome-shaped cells arranged so as to avoid straight rows of contiguous cells and so that any cross-section reveals a course or courses made up wholly or mainly of domes. The cores may be spherical, of shingle, quartz, hard basalt, silicon, carbide corundum, hard glass, porcelain or steatite.
