An amplidyne generator for very small outputs has an armature diameter between 30 and 35 mm. and is provided with compensating windings on one axis. To permit high-speed operation, the commutator connections to the armature windings 4 are made by welding on flexible wires 5 composed of fine strands, the join 6 to the winding being secured by cardboard slot-wedges 7.
