762,828. Cycle stands. GERVEN, G. W. VAN. Nov. 5, 1954 [Nov. 6, 1953], No. 32075/54. Class 136(1). In a folding stand for cycles and the like comprising an element fixable to the cycle and a spring loaded strut pivotally connected to the fixable element, the fixable element comprises a first plate 1 provided with a longitudinal slot 2 for engaging the back-shaft of the cycle and a second plate 3 which is bent and at one part 4 fixed to the first plate in such a manner that a fork 11 is formed between the plates at one and adapted to embrace a tube of the back fork of the cycle-frame, whereas the other ends of the plates are approximately parallel and are provided with two opposed borings through which passes the shaft 8 on which the strut 9 of the stand rotates. A circular cavity is formed at the end of the slot 2. A rotatable washer disc 14 is placed in the cavity and is provided with radial notches fitting in corresponding notches in the plate 1. The disc is also provided with a cam 16 fitting in the sheath of the back fork. The plate 3 is provided with a bent tongue 5 having an eye 6 in which one end of a spring 7 may be hooked. The other end of the spring is fixed to a rubber button 10. In its final positions the rotatable strut 9 rests against abutments 12, 13.
