Abstract

760,722. Closures for containers. VENESTA, Ltd. March 15, 1955 [Jan. 14, 1954], No. 1159/54. Classes 66 and 125(3). A container has a cardboard or other composition body and at least one metal end portion 4 overlapping the body and united thereto by metal wire stitching 9 passing through the metal overlap and composition body. The body 1 fits into a recess 6 in the metal end 4, the flange 5 of which is stitched with metal wire 9 to the body. A reinforcing composition strip 8 may be included inside the end portion and also penetrated by the stitching. This end closure may be used either as a lid, fitting over the body of a container or as a permanent closure for the bottom of the container.
