The machine described in the parent Specification is provided with an additional step in its washing cycle, viz: after the overflow rinse period and before the squeeze period the bottom drain is opened to allow gravity draining of the clothes compartment, the agitator being stopped when the level has fallen a predetermined amount. Specifications 654,254 and 735,185 are referred to.
