A device for extending socks during drying has a leg portion 10 of bars 12, 13, 14, hooks 17, 18 and an off-set projection 19 provided with a slot 21, and a foot portion 11 with limbs 23, 24 and hinged to the leg at 26, the flat end part 34 of limb 23 being slidable through slot 21 and the parts being of a resilient material such as polystyrene, so that the foot portion is resiliently expansible in depth.
