Abstract

Compounds composed of the cationic fragment of a cationic surfactant and the anionic fragment of an anionic surfactant are employed as a growth promotant, e.g. for hogs and chickens. The cationic fragment may be derived from a surface-active quaternary ammonium salt and the anionic fragment from common soaps. Trimethyl actadecyl ammonium stearate is a typical compound. Specific examples are given in the Specification.
