A multi-wave band stop-on-signal radio receiver is provided with a control element which is adapted to be moved in one manner to cause the receiver to search for a station transmitting signals and in a different manner to cause the waveband switch of the receiver to select a desired waveband. As described, the control element is depressed to cause the receiver to search and displaced laterally to operate the waveband switch.
