The lug 60 of the knuckle-thrower 38 which underlies the shelf 64 extends for an angular distance corresponding to the thrower movement from knuckle closed to knuckle open position and for a further distance at least 70 per cent of the first distance as indicated at 60a. This extension prevents accidental disassembly of the thrower 38 when the parts are worn.
