A vehicle body has a compartment 1 forming an integral part of the body and accommodating the spare wheel. The floor 3 of the compartment may be rigidly fixed and access obtained by a pivoted cover 4 which may form part of the front bumper. The front part of the compartment may however be fixed and the floor hinged at its rear end on fixed or sliding hinges.
