Abstract

753,666. Land rollers. BAYERISCHE BERG-, HUETTENUND SALZWERKE AKT.-GES. Jan. 11, 1954 [Jan. 26, 1953], No. 691/54. Class 6 (1). A roller for compressing soil comprises roller members 1, 9 fixedly concentric with respect to their axes and provided with arcuate projections 2 arranged in rows running annularly around the members, the projections in each row being staggered with respect to the adjacent row or rows, scraper members 4 being provided to engage in the spaces separating the rows of projections to remove soil embedded therein. The rear roller 9 is provided with a removable tyre 10 on which the projections 2 are mounted. When used as a road roller the front roller 1 is replaced by a smooth roller and the tyre 10 is removed from the rear roller 9.
