752,858. Straw &c. cutting-knives. GRONBERG, A. B., GRONBERG, K. G. V., and GRONBERG, S. D. June 22, 1954 [June 24, 1953]; No. 18313/54. Class 5 (1). A knife rotor for cutting straw &c. comprises one or more rows of outwardly directed knives 1 spaced by detachable distance pieces or sleeves 4 (Fig. 2, not shown), on bars 3 mounted between end plates 2. The rotor may be stiffened by spaced intermediate discs 7 and the knives are further supported by having backward extensions mounted on other bars 3a. Instead of such bars 3a the knife extensions may each carry cotter-pins 6 bridging the space between the discs 7 so that such pins may break if the knife strikes a hard object.
