A trip mechanism for a magneto comprises an angularly adjustable trip ring 1 attached by bolts 5 through selected holes of merged groups 4, and an angularly adjustable coupling consisting of one member 7, which is connected by dogs (not shown) to the enginemember 10, another member 11, which is connected to the spring 12, and a linking member 21 having eight teeth 22 engaging slots in the first member and nine teeth 23 engaging slots in the second member, so that a variety of relative angular positions can be obtained.
