Abstract

Screens, e.g. for small wet coal &c., are heated and agitated by electromagnetic induction. The inductors are preferably iron cored when operating between 200-2000 c/s and air cored for operating between 2,000-20,000 c/s, with a spiral coil on a lattice former having a variable turn spacing to produce an even heating effect. Such a coil allows air to be circulated up through the coil and screen.
