Abstract

746,759. Animal and wheeled toys. BRIEN, R., and DEAN'S RAG BOOK CO., Ltd. Jan. 11, 1954 [Jan. 9, 1953], No. 765/53. Classes 132(1) and 132(3) A toy wheeled carriage 11 is provided with tubular sockets 14 into which may be inserted horizontal lugs 10 formed at the lower ends of metal leg members which form part of the " skeleton " around which the body of a toy animal 1 is built. The members 8 are resilient to facilitate the engagement of the lugs and sockets, and the tendency of the members to splay when the animal is sat on produces more positive engagement of the lugs and sockets. The "skeleton" comprises three strip members welded, riveted or otherwise secured at their horizontal portions 5, 7, and the spacing of the lugs and sockets is such that the animal may face to the front or to the rear of the carriage. The sockets may be of inverted channel form and may be mounted on lugs provided on the carriage. If the toy animal is used separately from the carriage, the lugs 10 constitute flat feet which do not damage the supporting surface. The animal may be in the form of an elephant and the positions of the sockets and lugs may be interchanged.
