Abstract
Ectoparasite-destroying fumigating composition suitable for use on domestic animals comprises an aliphatic sulphonyl fluoride in admixture with a combustion agent. The sulphonyl fluoride e.g. methane sulphonyl fluoride is preferably absorbed on a suitable substance such as charcoal and kieselguhr. The combustion agent may be a mixture of charcoal, an alkaline earth metal carbonate e.g. barium carbonate, an alkali metal nitrate e.g. potassium nitrate and a binder e.g. dextrin. The combustion agent of the example consists of barium carbonate, barium nitrate, potassium nitrate and dextrin. This mixture along with methane sulphonyl fluoride is enclosed in a container fitted with suitable ignition means. Specification 478,350 is referred to.
