Abstract

743,959. Hurdles. HOWARD, G. H., and HUNT, J. F. Nov. 23, 1954 [Nov. 23, 1953], No. 32438/53. Class 45. In a hurdle comprising at least two base members 12, two upstanding members 14, and a bridge 22 having legs 24 slidably engaging the members 14 for height adjustment, weights 16 telescopically engage with the base members 12. Weights of different mass may be inserted in the members 12 which are closed by resilient ferrules 17. In an alternative construction the weights comprise tubes slidable on the members 12. As shown, supplementary weights 18 are slidable on the members 12 which are provided with a scale. The members 12, 14 and a cross piece 10 are tubular and are detachably inserted into socket members 11 as by screwing. The legs 24 are pivoted to the bridge 22 and provided with scales.
