741,187. Automatic exchange systems. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. June 25, 1953 [June 25, 1952], No. 17712/53. Class 40 (4). In a testing arrangement for a selector S in which a two-winding high-speed test relay P stops the selector, short circuits a highresistance winding to busy the outlet and connects up an auxiliary test relay Ph to make a check-test, non-linear resistances in series with the test relays P, Ph increase the resistance of the test circuit when encountering potentials less than that indicating a free outlet. The auxiliary test relay Ph, in operating, short circuits the non-linear resistance Glb or G12 to ensure that it is not released by the parallel connection of the test relays of another selector. Rectifiers are used for non-linear resistances. When the outlet is seized, relay C connects up a resistance W. The Specification states that in a known arrangement, the test circuit is disconnected when the wiper has passed over a third of a contact by a contact controlled mechanically by movement of the selector.
