A radio receiver comprises a dipole aerial having one element G in the form of a metal plate within the cabinet of the receiver and a second extensible member D which may be withdrawn from the cabinet as required. The element D as shown comprises an arcuate metal strip which may be wound on to the reel K; alternatively an element comprising a plurality of telescoping sections may be used.
