Abstract
738,544. Aerials. SQUIRES, F., WALKER, K. G., and BELLIS, G. Sept. 20, 1954 [Sept. 22, 1953], No. 26054/53. Class 40 (7). The two rod elements 18 and 19 of a dipole are threaded at their inner ends and screwed into a terminal insulating member 10. This has an inner terminal chamber 11 and two terminal strips 14 embedded in the insulator and exposed along the screw threads in the bores 16 arranged to receive the ends of the rods. Inside the chamber 11 one terminal strip carries a clamp 24 for making contact with the outer conductor of the feeder cable 22 while the inner conductor of the cable is secured to the other strip by screw 28. The cable is led out through a cross-arm barrel part 20 of the insulator and passes through a sealing sleeve 23 rendering the terminal chamber water-tight and relieving strain on the actual conductors of the cable. Access to the terminal chamber can be obtained by removing screw plug 29 which encloses a sealing washer.
