738,212. Stuffing-box packing. GILL, W. E. June 2, 1954 [June 1, 1953], No. 15139/53. Class 122 (5). [Also in Group XXVIII] In a beer engine (see Group XXVIII) a tube 14 is telescopically mounted in a stuffing-box which includes a rubber ring 7 arranged between two cork rings 8 having frusto-conical faces which are compressed by a ring nut 2 between an element 3 and a further element 5 attached to the housing 9; the elements 3 and 5 have frustoconical faces engaging the cork rings. Alternatively, the cork rings are dispensed with and the rubber ring has frusto-conical faces engaging the elements 3 and 5.
