A drafting head comprises feed and drafting rollers 1, 2 and 3, 4, 5, between which are located lower and upper sets of porcupine rollers 6, 7, the pins of each set intermeshing with each other and with adjacent sets. Brushes 13, 14 may be employed to maintain the porcupines rollers clean and an antilapping stop device 11, 12 may be provided. An electrostatic discharging device 10 is arranged after the drawing rollers 3, 4, 5.
