Abstract

A pharmaceutical preparation for oral or parenteral administration comprises reserpine free from other alkaloids and materials associated with plants of the Rauwolfia species, or contains a salt of reserpine, and a pharmaceutical carrier. The reserpine is prepared according to the method disclosed in Specification 734,108, [Group IV (b)]. A tablet is described in which the excipients are lactose, gelatin, starch, magnesium stearate and talcum.
