In an apparatus for delivering predetermined lengths of gummed tape, a roll of tape R is supported on a pair of rolls 2 in a casing 1, or may be supported on a shaft, and is guided between strips 3 and 4. An indicator disc 7 is mounted outside the wall of the casing, and is geared to a strip-feeding wheel 5, the disc being urged by a spring in a clockwise direction and stops 14, 15, limiting its movement. A plurality of holes 7a are arranged around the periphery of the disc 7, and arms 10, 11 provided with pins 8 and 9 respectively, which fit the holes 7a, are pivotally mounted on the shaft 18 of the disc 7. The pins 8 and 9 are of different lengths and co-operate with pivoted stop arms 12 and 13 respectively. The shaft 18 also carries a pivotally mounted lever 17 which at its free end is provided with a knife 16 and is urged by a spring in a clockwise direction to cut the tape when the predetermined length has been withdrawn. A roll 21, carried by a lever 22, pivotally mounted on the shaft 18, co-operates with the strip feeding wheel 5, the lever 17 actuating the lever 22 to move the roll 21 away from the tape when the knife is moved to the cutting position. Attached to the lever 17 is a member' 23 provided with keys 24 and 25, which give a choice of two different lengths of tape. On depressing the key 24 the lever 17 together with the knife 16 will be moved down until the member 23 engages with a notch 13a on the pivoted arm 13, a pin 19 on the lever 17 co-operating with a pin 20 on the disc 7 to rotate the disc 7 and feeding wheel to feed the tape until it can be grasped by the fingers. Upon pulling the tape over the moistening device 28 the disc 7 rotates and feeds a length of tape determined by the position of the pin 9 on the disc 7, and the pin 9 actuates the lever 13 to release the knife and cut the tape. If a shorter length of tape is required the key 25, which is slidably mounted on the member 23, is depressed, and in this position is engaged by a stop member 26 so that the member 23 engages with a notch 12a on the arm 12. When the tape is pulled the shorter pin 8 actuates the arm 12 to release the lever 17 and cause the tape to be cut.
