Abstract

732,124. Dental drills. KIMMEL, F., and SCHROCK, E., [trading as FINZLER, SCHROCK & KIMMEL]. June 25, 1952 [July 27, 1951], No. 15940/52. Class 81 (2). A dental instrument consists of a body of small cross-sectional diameter, hollow at one end to form internal and external grinding surfaces which are either coated with abrasive material or are of an abrasive nature themselves, the working end of the body being of conical shape. A hollow grinder 2 is provided with discharge openings 4 or slots and has grinding surfaces of diamond particles or similar material discharge channels in the form of spiral grooves 6 may be provided in the grinding surfaces which are provided on the outer, front and/or inner surfaces of the tool. The instrument is made of or coated with diamond particles or similar grinding material. Discharge openings may alternatively be provided in the shank of the grinder. The outer surface of the grinding tool is frusto-conical or tapered in shape.
