Abstract

Water-soluble filamentary materials composed of polyvinyl alcohol resins are treated with boric acid, preferably in non-aqueous, e.g. methanol, solution, whereby the sensitiveness of the materials to atmospheric humidity is reduced. Examples are given. The Provisional Specification refers to U.S.A. Specification 2,326,539.
