Abstract

729,776. Weighing-apparatus. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T. Jan. 4, 1954 [Nov. 10, 1952], No. 28216/52. Class 143. Weighing apparatus comprises an opaque drum 4, Figs. 2, 3 marked at one end circumferentially with weight indicia, and marked along its length with indicia representing the product of price/lb. and weight; a fixed lamp and lens system projects the weight indicia onto one end of a ground glass or like viewing screen 6, and a movable lamp and lens system projects the total price onto the viewing screen, the price/lb. being indicated from a fixed chart. A line 9, Fig. 3, on the screen acts as index. The movable system comprises lamps 10, Fig. 2, lens system 11, a tunnel screen 12, and moves on rails 14, 15 parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum 4. The lamps 10 are fed by brushes from the rails 14, 15 which act as bus-bars. A lamp 20 movable with screen 12 illuminates a translucent scale 22, Fig. 3, showing price/lb.
