Abstract
729,270. Heating liquids by electricity. POPOW, M. June 22, 1953, No. 17244/53. Class 39 (3). [Also in Group VI] In a pasteurizer for milk (Figs. 2 and 3) having a milk container 10 spaced from a casing 11 and sets of electric heating elements 52, 53, 54 in the space between the container and the casing, there are electric heating elements 27, 28, 29, 30 mounted in sealed tubes 14 which depend into the milk from a rotatable or reciprocable cover 13 for the container. The elements 27, 28, 29, 30 are suspended in each tube 14 by a rod 31 having split upper ends, the upper elements 27 and 28 being in insulating blocks 38 and 39 on the rod 31 (Fig. 4), the lower elements 29 and 30 being connected to the upper elements 27 and 28 through an intermediate block 42 on the rod 31, and a wire 50 connecting the lower ends of the elements 29 and 30 being accommodated in a groove in a shoe 49 at the lower end of the rod 31. The sets of elements 52, 53, 54 are mounted on a lining 12 of the casing 11 in insulating blocks 56 on the side walls and insulating blocks 57 at the bottom.
