Abstract

A Venetian blind slat is made of a thermoplastic organic polymer, particularly polystyrene or polyvinyl chloride, which has been pre-stressed by stretching in the general plane of the slat in at least one direction, the slat having a transverse curvature. Specification 585,164 is referred to.ALSO:A venetian blind slat is manufactured by heating a sheet of material containing a thermo-plastic organic polymer, particularly polystyrene or polyvinyl chloride, stretching while in a softened condition in at least one direction substantially co-planar to the plane of the sheet, moulding the material to produce a transverse curvature therein, and severing and forming a strip therefrom to form a venetian blind slat.
