727,337. Orientating blanks. THOMPSONBREMER & CO. Nov. 25, 1952 [Nov. 30, 1951], No. 29761/52. Class 78 (1). Drum 22 comprises longitudinal slots 49 fitted with spaced pins 50 so that when the drum is rotated a lock nut blank which has its base downwards will strike a pin and be checked, whilst a blank which has its base upwards will pass the pin and be discharged. As shown, the blanks are introduced through conduit 46 into the drum and the correctlyplaced pins pass out of the slots and slide down the broad duct 69 formed between the rotating drum and its stationary surround 24 and are then canalized into a narrow sloping duct (not shown) by funnel-shaped channel 79, there being provided a rotary finger 81 (not shown) which agitates the blanks as they enter the narrow channel.
