Abstract

724,919. Floors; panels. BROSSEAU, R. A. Jan. 26, 1953 [Jan. 26, 1952; Jan. 16, 1953], No. 2197/53. Classes 20 (4) and 87 (1). A floor is formed of wooden panels 1 having peripheral tongues 3 and corner mortices 4, the tongues 3 engaging longitudinal grooves 5b in frame members 2 and the mortices 4 receiving the corners of square key pieces 7 one of which is disposed at each junction point of the frame members 2 and passes through a slot 6 in one frame member to engage in grooves 5a at the ends of the other two frame members forming the junction. The panels 1 and the frame members 2 preferably rest on insulated base members 8, 9 and the keys 7 may be of various forms, e.g. octagonal, or circular. In a modification, Fig. 7, the panels have lateral grooves 10 for the introduction, of false connecting tongues 11 which also engage in the lateral grooves 5b in the frame members 2.
