Abstract

724,634. Automatic exchange systems. TELEPHONE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. Aug. 12, 1953, No. 22277/53. Class 40 (4). At each substation on a party line, the bell R and its isolating condenser C are connected across the line and the condenser C is connected in series with a gas-discharge tube T which strikes in response to ringing current but at other times effectively isolates the condenser C from the line, so as to prevent impulses dialled from one substation from being distorted by the condensers C at other substations on the line. The condenser C together with a resistor S provide a spark-quench circuit for the impulse springs IP of the dial which also comprises offnormal contacts ON.
