Abstract

A package support for the wet treatment <PICT:0721922/IV (c)/1> <PICT:0721922/IV (c)/2> of yarn consists of a conical or cylindrical metal shell 1 having an external surface defined by a rectilinear generating line, the shell being perforated with holes 4 arranged in longitudinal rows and formed in countersunk depressions 5 projecting into the interior of the shell and each depression being separated from adjacent depressions by parts 6 and 7 which do not project beyond the generating line of the outer surface of the shell and are formed with rounded-off parts sloping towards the depressions and holes: the spacing between adjacent holes, the depth of the depressions and the diameter thereof is such that the portions between adjacent holes provide a punctiform support for the package. The holes and depressions may be oval or polygonal.
