Abstract
716,690. Fishing line sliding sinkers and floats. ZWAAL, P. J. Aug. 20, 1952, No. 20887/52. Class 48. A detachable sliding- sinker or float for a fishing line comprises two detachably engaging parts, at least one of said parts having a groove which, after the two parts have been brought into engagement, provides a tubular conduit for the line to pass through. As shown, the two parts 1, 2 of a sinker are assembled by a dovetail profiled projection 4 on the one part 2 inter-engaging with a correspondingly profiled recess 3 on the other part 1. The part 2 is provided with a groove 5 so that when the two parts are placed together around the line 6, this latter is accommodated in a tubular conduit, the part 2, then resting on the stop block 7. In this case, the profiled elements taper inwardly upwards so that in use the part 1 clamps down on the part 2 by gravity. Alternatively the groove 5 may be provided in the surface of the recess 3, or a groove may be provided in both parts to form the tubular conduit.
