713,894. Filters. BATCHELOR, S. A. S. May 18, 1953 [May 21, 1952], No. 12881/52. Class 46 A straining device for use with a tin of paint or the like comprises a cup-shaped gauze A, Fig. 3, to the rim B of which is attached an upstanding arm C having a series of hooks D by which the cup A may be suspended from the tin with the cup partly submerged in the liquid. Straining takes place inwards. The upstanding arm may be in the form of a wire upon which the hooks are formed by bending the wire upon itself as in Fig. 3. Alternatively the hooks D may be portions punched out from a strip C, Fig. 5. The cup is maintained clear of the sides of the tin by projecting arms E, Fig. 3, provided on the rim B, or by an extension E of the strip C, Fig. 5.
