Abstract

710,203. Automatic exchange systems. STAATSBEDRIJF DER POSTERIJEN, TELEGRAFIE EN TELEFONIE. Feb, 11, 1952 [Feb. 19, 1951], No. 3617/52. Class 40 (4) A calling incoming circuit EER1 first causes an associated group selector EESS to hunt for a free register which then operates an associated finder F to search for the incoming circuits. During the hunting of F incoming digits are received by the register over selector EESS and subsequently they are received over F the group selector EESS then being freed for setting in the wanted direction EER2 under control of the register. The invention is intended for use in register .- controlled exchanges which receive calls from directly controlled exchanges so that rapid connection to a register-controller is essential. On receipt of an incoming call relay U operates and energizes the drive magnet DMEESS of the selector. When a free register is found test relay T in the selector. operates in series with relay R in the register. Relay R disconnects resistance W, from the circuit to busy it and brings up AA. Relay T stops the selector and operates P which connects the a and b wires over EESS to the digit receiver IR in the register. Relay R energizes the drive magnet DMF of the finder F. The register connects a characteristic potential determined by the potentiometer W2, W3 over the e wiper of EESS to the e-bank contact of F and this potential is also connected over the sequence switch SSB (position 1) by the potentiometer W4, W5 to the voltage-comparison device NW. When this potential is encountered by the e-wiper of F the device NW operates TT to stop the switch. TT also connects up a d.c. testing device GR which if successful operates GT. The latter brings up BB in series with AA. Relay BB connects the digit receiving device IR to the incoming a and b wires over wipers h, g of F. and releases TT. Relay GT follows and steps sequence switch SSB to position 2. Relay GT also brings up relay A in the selector. Relay A releases P which disconnects the incoming wires from the selector. Relay A also releases T. From the digits received by IR switches MS, ... MS4 are set, and bank MS1 connects potential from potentiometer W7, W8 to the device NW indicative of the wanted outgoing direction. When TT releases the selector drive magnet circuit is again made and the selector hunts for a free outlet having the required characteristic potential as determined by the potentiometer W8, W9. When such an outlet is found the potential comparing device NW operates TT to stop the switch, and GT operates to the d.c. test thereby bringing relay B up in series with A in the selector. Relay P then operates to switch through the incoming circuit via the selector to the outgoing trunk EESS.
