Abstract
709,269. Fishing lures. TORRANCE, W. R. L. March 18, 1952 [Dec. 18, 1950], No. 30773/50. Class 48 An angler's lure, Fig. 1, is detachably secured to the hook, line, wire shaft or the like by a clip member formed as a part of the lure and extnding lengthwise thereof, the ends of the clip member being shaped as snap-on clips 3, 4 projecting laterally from the lure to embrace the hook etc.; or an angler's spinner lure, Fig. 4. comprises a flat fin 10 bent to form a nearly circular channel 16 for embracing the line &c. tightly, and a spinner 22 having a hook-like clip 21 for clipping on to a neck 20 formed at the end of the channel 16. The latter is widened at its ends to form mouths for guiding the line thereinto and is enlarged at 24 adjacent the neck 20 to form an abutment for the clip 21. The latter is attached to the spinner 22 by a ring or by a connection which allows the spinner to rotate freely. The fin 10 may be formed by folding a pear-shaped member into two symmetrical halves, the fold forming the channel and the two halves slightly diverging from one another. In the lure shown in Fig. 1 the clip member is made of wire and the part thereof extending between the two snap-on clips 3, 4 serves as the core for the fly body.
